Who Is a Good Candidate for the Botox Eyebrow Lift?

This type of injection can be performed on any patient but there are some factors that make one person a better candidate that another. The best outcomes are observed in patients who don’t have a lot of excess skin. The shape of the eyelids is also an important consideration. Those with a smaller skin fold are best suited for the Botox eyebrow lift. If you have a very heavy eyelid then surgery many be the best option.

How Does a Botox Eyebrow Lift Work?

To achieve more elevated eyebrows Botox is injected in the upper-lateral area of the orbicularis oculi – the muscle that makes you wink and allow you to close your eyes.  This muscle has a downward pulling effect on the brows. By relaxing it the downward action is removed and the eyebrows naturally become more raised.

How Long Does it Take to See Results?

As with most Botox injections the effects can be seen and felt after 5-7 days. Patients will notice less movement in the muscles with each passing day but it can take two weeks for the final outcome. Results can last anywhere from 3-6 months after which maintenance injections are recommended. It only takes 3-5 units of Botox per eye to lift the brows by a few millimeters.
